This past March Ty spent a week in San Francisco where he began laying down the tracks for the next Tala Records release with bassist extraordinaire Kai Eckhardt. This album will be primarily influenced by funk, jazz, with a touch of West African roots. Check back soon for more information regarding this new record!
The highly sought-after Curandero album Aras will be re-released on Tala Records. This album features Ty on tabla/percussion and Miguel Espinoza on flamenco guitar, along with superb performances by Bela Fleck on banjo and Kai Eckhardt on bass.
At the end of May, Ty will embark on a five-week tour throughout Asia. He will be playing with Shubhendra Rao on sitar in Seoul and Tokyo, and with Krishna Das in Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Singapore. For more information regarding this tour, please go to
